Simeon Smith papers and estate inventory, 1772-1819.

Dr. Simeon Smith, a Connecticut native, studied medicine in Edinburgh, migrated to Sharon, Connecticut, in 1759, and operated a prosperous drugstore which dispensed medicines imported from Europe. Additionally, by the time of his death, Smith owned many acres of land in Connecticut, New York, and Vermont. His brother was Rev. Cotton Mather Smith and his nephew was Connecticut Governor John Cotton Smith. The papers (1772-1794) include bills and receipts. There are others concerning cattle and other items shipped to Vermont. His estate was settled by 1819.
